On Photography

Amanda Lynn shoots portraits, events, and concerts in Northern California. Here is an overview of her process.

Before the shoot:

Amanda will arrive an hour early and speak to the band about any special requests for photo or video shoot. During that hour, she will go through a practice run before the set, often photographing opening acts.

The most iconic moments will not wait for a new battery, lens, or memory card so she keeps spares readily available.

During the shoot:

As an artist, it is very important that the subject is cast in the best light possible. Amanda avoids using flash during concert photography as it is unnatural, distracting, and often prohibited. Instead, she compensates for the low light by adjusting the settings within professional-grade cameras and lenses.

After the shoot:

All images are downloaded and backed up. After rigorous review, the best shots are selected for editing in Lightroom and Photoshop.

And since no one likes to wait, the turnaround time for most shoots is just two business days.

For prepaid shoots, clients will recieve a link to a private Google Photos album for download as a zip file.

For nonpaid shoots, all images will be watermarked and no bigger than 450px wide. Large, non-watermarked versions may be purchased for $5 each. Free videos will be ad-supported.
